Memorials & Funerals

Faith Presbyterian Church extends our sympathy to you and your family on the passing of your loved one. Because “resurrection is a central doctrine of the Christian faith and shapes Christian’s attitudes and responses to the event of death,” Faith Presbyterian Church (FPC) has established the following guidelines:

“Even though I walk through the Valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, They comfort me.”
– Psalm 23:4

Information

  1. All members of Faith Presbyterian Church are encouraged to hold Memorial and Funeral Services in the Sanctuary or Hunt Chapel. There is no charge for any member for use of the church building(s)
  2. The Deacons are available to provide a reception for members in the Alcove consisting of coffee/tea/punch and cookies following the service. There is no charge for this ministry; you may, however, make a contribution to the Deacons Fund ($25.00 for every 50 people will meet the cost).
  3. In keeping with the Presbyterian understanding that a Funeral or Memorial Service is a Witness to the Resurrection, ostentation should be avoided. Flowers should be simple, and while flowers may be in abundance at the reception, there should be a minimal number of arrangements in the sanctuary/chapel. Because this is a worship service, it is not appropriate to display pictures or collages of the deceased in the place of worship. However, pictures of the deceased and family may be displayed in the reception area. The family is responsible for picture displays. If the family would like to have a video presentation shown at the reception, it must be delivered to the church office at least 3 business days before the service to check for compatibility. For funeral services, the casket shall be closed during the service.
  4. To schedule arrangements for your loved one, please contact the Administrative Asst. at 239-542-2858. Plans will be coordinated with the pastor and appropriate staff to ensure a positive and loving service. The pastor is responsible for the service. Speakers, musical presentations, etc., should be arranged with the pastor prior to invitations being extended
  5. Faith Church has available to the Faith family a Memory Garden for the interment of ashes. Memory Garden information can be found by clicking here. The $250 Interment fee provides for upkeep and maintenance of the Memory Garden as well as the installation of a plaque on the Memory Garden wall with the dates of the birth and death of the deceased.
  6. The Guest Book, if one is desired, should be provided by the family
  7. Technical services require the scheduling of a media technician. Fees may apply.

Thank you for making checks payable to the individual and for delivering prior to the date of service.
